Irrigation Changes in Summer

After a very hot and dry spring, we are now entering rainy season. Regional regulations prohibit lawn fertilization for the next three months in order to protect our waterways.  This means that we will not be applying any nitrogen or phosphorous during this time. In August, we will apply a liquid fertilization treatment that includes iron, potassium and micro-nutrients.  We will be carefully inspecting your turf and landscape plantings throughout the summer and treating as needed.

General guidelines for watering St. Augustine turf are twice per week for 25-30 minutes per zone for spray heads or 45-60 minutes per zone for rotating heads.  Zoysia turf needs slightly less watering twice per week for 20 minutes per zone for spray heads or 45 minutes for rotating heads.

If you have any questions or concerns about your landscape, please don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. We will gladly schedule a prompt inspection to go over your inquiries.
